Why he might be annoying:

He shaved three years off his age, claiming 1912 as a birth year.
The dialogue in many of his plays consists of meaningless non-sequitors.
He objected to the label 'Theater of the Absurd,' saying he preferred 'Theater of Derision.'
He said, 'The basic problem is that if God exists, what is the point of literature? And if He doesn't exist, what is the point of literature?'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was married to Rodica Burileanu for 58 years until his death.
'The Bald Soprano' has been running at one theater in Paris' Left Bank since 1957.
'Rhinoceros,' in which all but one of the inhabitants of a French town turn into rhinos, was a commentary on conformity and totalitarianism.
He was named an officer of the Legion of Honor (1984).
