    Birth name was Mary Brooks
    Appeared in several silent Western serials
    Also appeared in the films 'Damon and Pythias' (1914), 'The Roaring Road' (1919), 'Excuse My Dust' (1920) and 'The Greatest Menace' (1923)

Why she might be annoying:

    She was typecast as Indians.
    She divorced actor Allan Forrest after two years of marriage.
    She abruptly quit show biz in 1925 and never explained why.
    The two leading theories are that she was tired of Westerns or that she decided to devote herself to religion after converting to Christian Science.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She grew up on a ranch and was an expert rider.
    She was a lifelong student of Native American culture and her faithful portrayal of a young Indian in 'The Squaw Man' (1918) won her the respect of the Indian extras in the film.
    She later became a manager of the popular Chateau Marmont hotel on LA's Sunset Strip.
