Hockey Player

The Resume

    (December 12, 1925-August 14, 2009)
Born in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada
Center for the Toronto Maple Leafs (1942-57)
Winner of the Hart Trophy as most valuable player (1955)
Inducted into the Ice Hockey Hall of Fame (1966)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was nicknamed 'Teeder.'
He got to join the Maple Leafs at a young age (17) because so many players were away during WWII.
    He was a poor skater.
During the 1950 Playoffs, Red Wings GM Jack Adams accused him of shoving Gordie Howe into the boards, inflicting a skull fracture on Howe.
News of his death probably raised some eyebrows in American political circles, since a US Senator with the same name was suffering from a brain tumor.

Why he might not be annoying:

He made up for his subpar skating with his competitiveness and determination.
Fellow Maple Leaf Howie Meeker said, 'There's never been a harder worker in every game. Maybe Wayne Gretzky might come close.'
Howe himself absolved Kennedy of blame, saying he hit the boards after missing while trying to deliver a hard check on Kennedy.
As of 2009, he was the last Maple Leaf to win the Hart Trophy.
