    She got the name Lunch from stealing lunches for her friends.
    She was also a shoplifter and streetwalker.
    She abused mescaline, pot, LSD, Quaaludes, Valium, cocaine and angel dust.
    Her guitar style was described as 'grating, fingernails-down-the-blackboard playing.'
    She said, 'As much as possible, I want to inflict my personal pain on the rest of society.'
    She said, 'I would be humiliated if I found out anything I did actually became a commercial success.'

    She was sexually abused by her father and physically abused by her mother.
    She lists her influences as Jean Genet, Henry Miller and Hubert Selby, Jr., 'who taught me that you've got to tell a bigger truth in whatever you're doing.'
    She formed her own record label and publishing company, Widowspeak.
    She was an influence on Sonic Youth.
    She claimed, 'You're never going to see me fucked up and sloppy on the street, and you're never going to see me acting like Courtney Love, and for some strange reason it comes down to a feeling of dignity.'
