    Despite their 'Trans-Siberian' name, they are really from New York.
    Their trademark is playing Christmas music in a rock-operatic style.
    They released a concept album about Beethoven that flopped, and they had to go back to the Christmas songs.
    Their founder, Paul O'Neill, is pretentious in interviews.
    Paul O'Neill, shares names with former NY Yankee Paul O'Neill and former Secretary of the treasury Paul O'Neill.
    He compares the band's work to the masterpieces of Michelangelo.
    He gets defensive when people point out similarities to Mannheim Steamroller, a more famous prog-rock group also specializing in Christmas music.
    One critic described them as 'Yuletide Meat Loaf.'
    Some mistakenly believe it was Metallica, not them, who recorded 'Christmas Eve Sarajevo.'

    Some of its members were members of the metal group Savatage.
    One critic compared one of their concerts to 'having church.'
    They undertake two simultaneous tours every December.
    They are engaging live performers.
    They have a cult following.
