Why he might be annoying:

By fourteen he was using his knowledge of karate to build a reputation as a tough street fighter.
Due to his martial arts skills, he often appears in horrible American kung-fu films.
In what was initially a major role, his part in Kill Bill was cut entirely.
He appeared in the Mariah Carey/Busta Rhymes 'I Know What You Want' video clip.
It took him 8 years to get his first title credit.

Why he might not be annoying:

While still in high school, he taught karate classes at his local YMCA to fund himself through college.
Before breaking into acting, he was a junior high school teacher specializing in mentally disturbed children.
He studied acting at HB Studio and Yale University.
He is a black belt in seven different karate styles and won over 26 titles including the U.S Open, North American Open and New England Grand Champion.
Quentin Tarantino wrote his part in Kill Bill on set because he was so impressed by his skills.
He acted in off Broadway productions of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and 'Raisin in the Sun.'
