    Appeared on Broadway in 'Everywoman' (1911-12), ‘The New Henrietta’ (1913-14), 'The Importance of Being Earnest' (1926), 'The Little Foxes' (1939-41), 'Arsenic and Old Lace' (1941-44), and 'I've Got Sixpence' (1952)

    Her first stage role was as a Chinese doll in a production of ‘Little Black Sambo and Little White Barbara’ when she was twelve.
    At the age of twenty-four, she originated the role of Pollyanna (an eleven year-old orphan) on Broadway.
