Why he might be annoying:

    He is noted for bombarding the press with letters to draw attention to his favored issues and positions.
    He went from wanting a Constitutional amendment outlawing abortion to supporting abortion rights.
    He used to refuse to accept campaign contributions from PACs (political action committees), but later actively solicited funds from them.
    He voted in favor of the war in Iraq, but later called it ‘a mistake’ that he blamed on lies about WMDs by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld.
    He objected to counting Ohio’s electoral votes in the 2004 election, but called Republicans objecting to the 2020 election results ‘seditious.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He drove an ice cream truck to raise the tuition money for college.
    He wrote the law codifying the recommendation of the 9/11 Commission that all cargo on passenger airplanes be screened for explosives.
    He tried to keep the FCC from eliminating net neutrality.
    Despite his age, he became a Gen-Z favorite for his progressive policies.
    He became the first politician to defeat a Kennedy in Massachusetts when he won the Democratic primary election for Senate over Joseph Kennedy III (2020).
