Why she might be annoying:

She gave up a high-powered career after marrying Crown Prince Naruhito.
She rarely leaves her palace and does so only for special appearances and only with her husband.
She reportedly sneaks out of the palace incognito to visit her parents in the Tokyo suburb.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was educated at Harvard and Oxford.
She turned down Prince Naurhito's marriage proposals twice.
She became the first career woman to become a Japanese princess, thus she was credited with modernizing the Japanese monarchy.
She became pregnant after seven years of marriage only to suffer a miscarriage as a result of extreme Japanese media coverage and pressures to produce an heir.
While Japan's Royal Family hoped for a male heir, she finally produced a female heir. Social analysts believe that the daughter may narrow Japan's gender gap and give women higher status.
