The Resume

    (January 25, 1975- )
    Born in Detroit, Michigan
    Comic book writer
Known for his work on the DC Comics characters Green Lantern, Aquaman, Flash and Superman
    President of DC Entertainment (2016-18)
    Co-founder of DC Films (2016)
Chief Creative Officer at DC Comics (2010-18)
Producer of ‘Green Lantern (2011),’ ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016),’ ‘Suicide Squad (2016),’ ‘Wonder Woman (2017),’ ‘Justice League (2017),’ ‘Shazam! (2018),’ and ‘Birds of Prey (2020)’

Why he might be annoying:

He tried to be the Kevin Feige of the DC Cinematic Universe.
He came up with the brilliant idea to cast Ryan Reynolds in the bomb that was Green Lantern.
The decision was so detrimental to Reynolds' career that the end of Deadpool satirized it by having Reynolds get shot in the back of the head to prevent him from opening the script and accepting the part.
He has made a name for himself more as a Superhero movie mogul - many comic readers are hard-pressed to name an actual contribution of his to the books.
For instance, people barely even remember he wrote for The Avengers for two years, between 2002 and 2004, and many fans would prefer not to (he himself admitted to not even researching the characters before writing them).
He used himself as the visual inspiration for the Green Lantern, Simon Baz, in 2012.
Ray Fisher repeatedly accused him of railroading both himself and Zack Snyder on 'Justice League' - in favor of Joss Whedon (the final product was yet another disaster).

Why he might not be annoying:

His sister was a victim of the TWA Flight 800 crash.
He was mentored by Richard Donner, who helped him get his first job in the industry.
His favorite comic hero is The Flash and his favorite villains are Captain Cold and Sinestro.
He was responsible for the return of Hal Jordan in 2005 as the writer of the Green Lantern: Rebirth mini-series.
His most notable contribution to comic books has been his revival of the Green Lantern franchise (which makes his bungling of the film version all the more puzzling).
He’s been credited with making DC Comics’ character pool more diverse (Baz Simon, for instance, was introduced as the first Middle-Eastern and Muslim-American member of the Lanterns).
The first comics he ever bought were 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' #3 and 4. He would later team with Grant Morrison and Mark Waid, in 2006, to write the series’ much anticipated follow-up: 'Infinite Crisis.’
He helped the DC Universe franchise to become the eleventh-highest-grossing film franchise of all time (the crown jewel being his producing ‘Aquaman’ - the highest-grossing DC film to date at $6 Billion globally).
He established DC Comics’ real foothold over Marvel in the television arena, co-producing hits for The CW like ‘The Flash,’ ‘Batwoman,’ ‘Stargirl,’ and ‘Superman & Lois.’
