Why she might be annoying:

She drank like a fish.
She called reporters at 3 AM, drunk to blab about the Nixon's White House's dirty tricks.
Her husband gave her sedatives to keep her quiet.
Richard Nixon thought she was crazy and was caught on tape saying 'She is a sick woman.'
Her taste for flamboyant clothes ranked her #8 in 1971 on Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dress List. Blackwell said she dressed like 'Sun Bonnet Sue on a rainy afternoon.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She had a quick wit and gregarious personality.
She was one of the first people to publicly accuse Nixon of abusing his power.
Nixon's people tried to ruin her reputation by leaking information to the press about her alcoholism and past nervous breakdown.
She was left-handed.
In fairness, being associated with the Nixon administration might drive anyone to drinking.
Her erratic behavior caused her husband to leave her.
