    Died of head injuries suffered when the van he was driving collided with a bus

Why he might be annoying:

    He was signed by Parma after the 1994 World Cup, but a limit of three foreigners per team resulted in his being loaned out to Napoli, then sold to Real Madrid.
    He was investigated by Colombian and Panamanian authorities on suspicion of money laundering and collaborating with drug kingpin Pablo Montano.
    He spent four months in jail in Brazil, based on an arrest order from Interpol (2007).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered a versatile midfielder, able to play on the left, at center, or as an attacking midfielder.
    He scored a late goal against Germany, producing a 1-1 tie that allowed Colombia to advance to the round of 16 in the 1990 World Cup, after the country's 28-year absence from the tournament.
    He won a Silver Ball as best player on a Brazilian team at his position (1999).
    He suffered a head wound and multiple fractures when the truck he was driving overturned on a wet road (2013).
    Panama eventually dismissed the case against him (2015).
