Elected the 27th mayor of Grand Forks, North Dakota (June 9, 2020)

His NHL career was uneventful.
He was unable to establish himself as a scorer in the NHL.
He played on four different teams in the 2008 calendar year.
Despite playing for the United States in international competition early in his career, he elected to play for Kazakhstan in the later years.
Some political insiders felt his nomination for the Grand Forks mayoral job came largely in part to his popularity as a star on the UND men’s hockey team in the early 2000’s.
