Why they might be annoying:

Their song title ‘Jimbrowski’ became a slang term for ‘penis.’
They clashed repeatedly with Warner Brothers Records, delaying the release of their third album.
Despite a similar sound and similar levels of critical acclaim, they never matched the commercial success of De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest.

Why they might not be annoying:

Afrika Baby Bam took his name to honor Afrika Bambaata.
Robert Christgau described their music as ‘street tough, yet somehow free of hostility.’
’Straight out the Jungle’ and ‘Down by the Forces of Nature’ were included on The Source’s ‘100 Best Albums’ list (1998).
