Why he might be annoying:

    He went by the name Toby, instead of his birth name of Colbert.
    He spent the majority of his career on horrendous Rangers teams.
    He was relegated to being a part-time player during his lone season with the Yankees.
    He holds the distinction of playing a doubleheader without recording either a putout or an assist.
    He sported a hippie look during his playing career.
    He posted a 32-44 record as an interim manager, but wasn't considered for the Rangers managerial position the following year.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered one of the first stars for the Rangers, following the relocation to Texas.
    He made three All-Star Game appearances as a member of the Rangers (1972, 1975, 1976). 
    He was the last active player in the majors, who played for the Washington Senators at the time of his retirement.
    He recorded the first of three grand slams between two in a single game (1986).
    He was inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame (1989).
