Why they might be annoying:

    They were one-hit wonders.
Their one hit is now remembered mainly as the theme song from commercials for Nair hair remover.
They tried to cash in on their big hit and the latest dance craze by recording ‘Short Shorts Twist’ (1962), but with no success.
They underwent numerous personnel changes, starting with Billy Crandall leaving when his parents would not let him drop ouot of high school to go on tour (1958).
By the time they broke up, the ‘Teens’ half of their name had long stopped being accurate.

Why they might not be annoying:

Bob Gaudio joined the Four Seasons and co-wrote several of their hits, including ‘Sherry,’ ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry,’ ‘Walk Like a Man; and ‘Rag Doll.’.
Billy Crandall changed his name to Buddy Randall, joined the Knickerbockers and sang lead on their Top 20 hit ‘Lies.’ (1965)
Al Kooper was a member of their touring band.
’Short Shorts’ was featured in the Broadway musical 'Jersey Boys' and The Simpsons episodes ‘Homer the Heretic’ and ‘El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Homer.’
