Why he might be annoying:

    He struggled to stay in the Bruins lineup during his first couple seasons.
    His alcoholism led to a divorce from his wife and his exile from the NHL at the end of his career.
    His promiscuous lifestyle led to him being diagnosed with AIDS towards the end of his life.
    Rather than work on improving his quality of life upon his diagnosis, he drank himself to death.
    Upon finding out his diagnosis of AIDS, he chose to isolate himself from his girlfriend and family.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a member of the inaugural North Stars team, and served as a mainstay on the roster for the club's first ten seasons.
    His #8 was posthumously retired by the franchise a year before it moved to Dallas.
    He left the North Stars as the franchise's all time points leader, prior to Mike Modano.
    He was the first NHL player from an expansion team to record 250 goals.
    He was a member of Team Canada at the 1972 Summit Series, where he played alongside his North Star linemate Jean-Paul Parise.
