Why he might be annoying:

It’s pronounced ‘Alan,’ not like that Delon guy.
He has a build and features that would do credit to a nightclub bouncer (or Pitbull).
On being the subject of ‘Plans Make Gods Laugh,’ a biographical documentary: ‘I had to get drunk a little bit and do it over a couple of nights.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He plays 16 different instruments, including some really lesser-known ones.
He has a moderate unimposing voice and vocal — neither incredibly high pitched nor raspy nor basso deep.
Flea was a replacement member of one of his earliest bands (involving the future Red Hot Chili Peppers).
‘Time for Miracles,’ a song co-written by him and Shneider, was recorded by Adam Lambert for ‘2012’ — shortly after Shneider died.
Inspired by his mother’s bout terminal cancer (of which she died at the start of 2014), he used Instagram to share videos of in-progress songs.
Otherwise, he tends to keep his personal life private.
