    He was banned from Twitter for violating the platform's COVID-19 misinformation policies.
    He spoke at an anti-Vax rally in Washington, D.C.
    YouTube removed videos of a controversial interview he did with Spotify podcast host Joe Rogan (January 2022).
    During the interview he alluded to what he called 'mass formation psychosis' developing in American society in its reaction to COVID-19 (comparing it to the early days of Nazi Germany).
    He sued Twitter in federal court to challenge his permanent suspension from the platform.

    He started his career at the Salk Institute.
    He conducted a number of mRNA technology studies in the 1980s and 1990s.
    He performed an experiment on the transfection of RNA into human, rat, mouse, Xenopus, and Drosophila cells in 1987.
    He collaborated on a study into the possibility of synthesizing mRNA in a laboratory to trigger the production of desired proteins.
    Since the beginning of the global pandemic, he has sharply criticized the use of mRNA technology in coronavirus vaccines (chiefly Pfizer and Moderna).
    He was defended by many free speech and anti-Censorship advocates.
