Why he might be annoying:

    His last name is hard to spell.
    He played on five different teams, including two separate stints with the Rangers.
    He struggled to stay healthy throughout the course of his career.
    He played on the Italian national team at the World Baseball Classic as a result of his ancestry, despite not having citizenship or any formal ties to the country itself.
    His hometown signing with the Mets was considered a disappointment, as he was designated for assignment after one month with the team.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a versatile player, who played the majority of the infield and outfield positions seamlessly.
    He was one of the few players acquired by the Rangers in the Juan Gonzalez trade that actually panned out.
    He got to finish his career with his hometown Mets.
    He and his family became involved in causes pertaining to vascular birthmarks, after his oldest daughter had one on her face at two weeks old.
    He guided the Hofstra baseball team to the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in his first season with the team (2022).
