    Appeared on Broadway in ‘The Curse of an Aching Heart’ (1982) and ‘Death of a Salesman’ (1985)

Why he might be annoying:

    The Washington Post’s description of his appearance: ‘Stocky, bald and often sweaty.’
    He had a gravelly voice.
    When the producers of ‘Homicide’ decided to de-emphasize his character in the third season, he complained to the media – after which his character was killed off.
    He said about his ubiquity (over 200 movie and TV appearances), ‘I’m everywhere. I’m like poo.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He graduated from Villanova with honors.
    He was inspired by classic Hollywood character actors like Sydney Greenstreet and Charles Laughton.
    He won an Obie (the off-Broadway equivalent of a Tony) as Best Actor for his performances in five plays during the 1979-80 season.
    He was a favorite of the Coen Brothers, with roles in five of their films.
