He was a dope dealer while in high school.
He joined Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam (1992).
He turned down lead roles in ‘Boyz n the Hood’ and ‘Menace II Society.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a childhood friend of fellow N.W.A. member Eazy-E.
He left the Crips and dope dealing after seeing friends get busted.
He left the Nation of Islam (but remained a Sunni Muslim).
When Gene Simmons said rappers should not be allowed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he replied that Simmons was just jealous that Run-DMC, the Beastie Boys and Public Enemy made it to the Hall before Kiss.
