    Birth name was Jerome Harold Schatz
    Appeared in 18 ‘Our Gang’ shorts (1931-38)
    Also appeared in the feature films ‘Prosperity’ (1932), ‘March of the Wooden Soldiers’ (1934), ‘Captain January’ (1936) and ‘Boys’ Town’ (1938)

Why he might be annoying:

    His name was changed to sound ‘less ethnic.’
    He was nicknamed ‘the Red, White and Blue Kid’ for having red hair, blue eyes and pale skin.
    He was typecast as a spoiled rich boy.
    He did not tell his wife about his career as a child star until after they were married.

Why he might not be annoying:

    At age four, he became the youngest actor signed to a long-term contract by Paramount Studios.
    He served with the Navy during World War II and was injured by shrapnel in a kamikaze attack.
    After WWII, he earned a masters degree in electrical engineering and went to work for RCA.
    He was married to Myra Schatz for over 60 years.
