    Threw a hand grenade at US President George W. Bush and Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili during a rally in Tbilisi, Georgia (May 10, 2005)
    Sentenced to life imprisonment (January 11, 2006)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was an unemployed loner who lived with his mother.
    Georgia authorities did not inform the US Secret Service about the attack until after Bush had left the country even though the would-be assassin remained at large during the rest of Bush's visit.
    He killed Zurab Kvlividze, head of the Georgia Anti-Terrorist Department, in a shootout during his arrest.
    He said he hated the government of Georgia for being a 'puppet' of the US.
    He said he would do it again if he could.

Why he might not be annoying:

    The grenade failed to detonate.
    Two people who provided information leading to his arrest shared an $80,000 reward.
    After his trial, he said 'I don't consider myself a terrorist. I'm just a human being.'
