Why they might be annoying:

Their song, 'Michael,' confuses people about their sexual preferences.
Shortly after opening their studio and a mini-art club, Alex was arrested for running an illegal bar with fire hazards and complaints about noise (charges were later dropped).
The reason they chose to name the group after Archduke Franz Ferdinand is basically unknown.
After they were done recording their single 'Matinee' at the Top of the Pops, Alex walked past Eminemrehearsing and he got into an unexpected fight with Eminem's bodyguard.

Why they might not be annoying:

All three of their singles released from their self-titled album, 'Darts of Pleasure,' 'Take Me Out' and 'Matinee,' were top ten hits in the UK.
Once 'Darts of Pleasure' was released in the UK, it became an instant radio hit and a couple of months after 'Take Me Out' was released, it became a hit in the UK, US, Australia and Canada.
Alex ranked #2 on the 'Top Ten Fittest Rock Stars.'
They're very similar to Electric Six, added guitar rock.
On several occasions, they've been called the 'Scottish Interpol' and the 'Future Smiths.'
'Franz Ferdinand' is arguably one of the best art rock albums to come out in years.
Earlier in their band's history, they took over an abandoned warehouse and made it into a 'funky art-deco club' called 'The Chateau,' and after it was shut down, they took over a Victorian courtroom and jail to hold their gigs and record material.
