Why he might be annoying:

While attending a Catholic boarding school, he enjoyed detention, because he would not have to mingle with other boys.
He started his acting career by sneaking out while his mother was at church, and performing an impromptu audition for actor Maurice Escande (May, 1943).
He never got a drivers license; when director Claude Chabrol demanded that he drive for a scene in 'The Unfaithful Wife,' he almost ran over the camera operator.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he was fifteen, he had to drop out of school and go to work to help support the family after his father became a prisoner of war.
