Hosted the ABC radio program 'Wake Up And Smile' (1946-47)
Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame (1996)

Why she might be annoying:

She initially added an 'e' to her first name and billed herself as 'Rubye Blevins, the Yodeling Cowgirl from San Antone,' despite actually coming from Arkansas.
She was discovered by the 'National Barn Dance' of Chicago radio station WLS when she accompanied her brothers to that city's World's Fair to enter a 'World's Largest Watermelon' contest (1933).
She tried to repeat the success of 'Cowboy's Sweetheart' with a series of similar records, such as 'Rodeo Sweetheart,' 'I Wanna Be a Western Cowgirl' and 'I Want to Be a Cowboy's Dream.'

'I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart' was the first single by a female country singer to sell a million records.
She was called the 'Girl with the Million Dollar Personality.'
She influenced Patsy Cline and Dottie West.
