Model

The Resume

    (June 9, 1987- )
    Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
Model discovered by a friend of a Milan modeling scout while working at East Side Mario’s restaurant in 2005
Has worked for Louisa Models - Munich, Storm Models - London, Ford Models - New York City, View Management - Spain, Elmer Olsen Model Management - Toronto and Elite Model Management - Paris
Featured on Style.com's Top Ten models of Spring 2007
Came under fire for her gaunt, uber-skinny frame as she walked the runway for Gianfranco Ferre in Milan (September 27, 2011)
Listed as 5 feet, 11 inches, with measurements of 31-23-34 (yeah, on a good day)

Why she might be annoying:

In 2006, very thin models were formally banned from catwalk shows in Milan to combat unrealistic body images, yet there she strutted in 2011.
The agreement was models had to have at least an 18.5 BMI (body mass index) to hit the runway, so unless she wore a fat suit when she checked in, somebody goofed.
    Think Isabelle Caro.
She is quoted as saying, 'It does worry me, seeing all these girls turned into people who don't have feelings.' (or in her case caloric intake)

Why she might not be annoying:

Unlike many of her contemporaries, she didn't start modeling in her early teens (her debut was at 19).
She was named a face to watch by WWD (Women's Wear Daily) in September 2006.
She was further named a face to watch by Marie Claire in March 2007.
She's been featured in the Vogue magazines of Italy, England, Japan, Germany, Russia and Spain.
She lives in New York City.
Fashion insiders say the BMI restriction is too difficult to enforce, so she just showed up for work and was allowed to participate.
Her appearance will surely keep the 'sickly model debate' to continue as a cause célèbre.
