None of his characters really connected with the fans.
He wrestled in the WWE dressed like a Viking.

His signature phrase in the WWE was 'huss, huss, huss.'
His signature phrase in the AWA consisted of howling like a wolf.
He won most of his matches in the WWE by throwing his opponent over the top rope to the floor and letting them get counted out of the ring.
He was involved in a silly segment in a WWE home video release where he would give tips on how to throw a party.

He could do jumping splits and often did them during matches.
His WWE character has a cult following on the internet.
He grew up with many other wrestlers that gained fame in professional wrestling, like Curt Hennig, Rick Rude, Barry Darsow, Tom 'The Z-Man' Zenk and Road Warrior Hawk.
