The Resume

    (2003- )
    New Orleans-based Hip-Hop group
Affiliated with Lil' Wayne and the Cash Money record label
Members include(d) Drake, Nicki Minaj, Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda, Corey Gunz, Mack Maine, Lil Chuckee, Tyga, and Lil' Twist
Released 'Young Money: The Mixtape, Vol. 1' in 2005
Released their debut single, 'Every Girl,' and debut 'We Are Young Money,' in 2009
Released two more compilation albums, 'Rich Gang' (2013) and 'Young Money: Rise of an Empire' (2014)
From 2007, functioned as a dual music label and musical group (Young Money Entertainment)
Singles include 'Every Girl,' 'BedRock,' 'Roger That,' 'Tapout,' 'We Alright,' 'Trophies,' and 'Lookin Ass'

Why they might be annoying:

Their mentor is Lil Wayne. 'Nuff said.
They've had more group leaders/label heads than a banana Republic.
They have continuously allowed themselves to be involved in 'frenemy' squabbles with troubled rapper, Birdman.
The group is mostly comprised of wanksta rappers (artists who rap about 'life on the streets' but who hail from comfortable/safe suburban areas).
One of their early hit songs pays direct homage to Fred Flintstone and his home city.
Their performance at the 2009 BET Awards had to be edited in re-broadcasts due to perceived inappropriateness.
Their albums have mostly been panned by music critics.
The A.V. Club's Nathan Rabin panned their debut album; calling it 'pure bubblegum, the kind of instantly disposable pop ephemera listeners forget about while it’s still playing.'
Aside from Wayne/Minaj/Drake, few of the other group members have gone on to successful solo careers (although Tyga has managed to keep his name in the news a lot over the years...)

Why they might not be annoying:

Some of their work exhibits a surprising level of wholesomeness, at least for the genre.
Between Wayne, Minaj, and Drake, they have released eleven US No. 1 albums.
Negative reviews never have seemed to affect their popularity or commercial success all that much.
'We Are Young Money' made it to the Top Ten on the 200 Billboard Chart.
Their 'Young Money Presents: Americas Most Wanted Music Festival trek' tour' generated an almost unprecedented level of interest in a first-time group.
Their debut album sold half-a-million copies, earning them gold certification from the RIAA, within only five months.
It put Drake and Nicki Minaj, on the map.
In Drake's case it also gave him the opportunity to move past the stigma of his 'Degrassi'/teen-idol years and into the realm of an actual 'artist.'
They made the successful transition from a rag-tag group of upstart rappers to a major force in the record label industry in their own right.
