Why she might be annoying:

She is a bit of a junk food junkie, saying that her favorite drink is a caramel milkshake and her favorite food is ice cream.
She briefly considered quitting swimming after failing to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
She was initially banned from marching in the closing ceremonies of the 2016 Olympics (over an incident in which she visited friends in Rio's Copacabana district and returned to the Olympic Village after curfew), only to have the sanction lifted at the last minute.

Why she might not be annoying:

She qualified for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the same Brisbane swimming pool where her mother Susie qualified for the 1982 Games.
Her seven medals at Tokyo tied the record for most medals won at a single Olympics by a female athlete.
She won more Olympic medals than any other Australian athlete (and tied Ian Thorpe for the most gold medals).
