Why he might be annoying:

He is branded a racist, an anti-semite and a xenophobe by most of his political adversaries.
He never completed his college studies.
Having lost his parliamentary seat in 1962, he had to look for his first real day job at the age of 33.
He has been unable to present a serious political and economic program, even in 2002.
Economists have called his program pure nonsense.
He is often prone to violent and aggressive behavior.
He behaves despotically as leader of his own party, contributing to its bad organization and limited growth.
He often makes deliberately provocative statements in the media so he can attract publicity.
He is a millionaire, and some people have asserted that he made his friend, Hubert Lambert, drink himself to death in order to inherit his fortune.
Some people have pretended that he tortured prisoners and suspects when he was a lieutenant in Algeria.
In 1981, he couldn't run for president because he failed to get the necessary 500 mayors' signatures.
In 2002, he ran for the second sound of the french presidential election, but failed to give the image of a serious presidential candidate.
In 2004, he ran for office as President of one of France's southern regions. He neglected to have a real housing there, invalidating his candidacy.
He lost his sight in one eye because of an illness, and later said that he had lost his eye in a fight in order to look like a bad ass.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a volunteer for the french conflict in Indochina (Vietnam)
In 1956, at the age of 27, he became France's youngest MP.
He temporarily left his duties in the Parliament to participate in the conflict in 'Algeria.'
He is an excellent public speaker and debater.
Change his first name to Jean-Marie to honor his late father, who was called like that.
He grew up in poverty and is a self-made man. Even before inheriting his current fortune, he had set up his own company.
Most of the french media are against him and often treat him unfairly.
'Jacques Chirac' refused to have a public debate with him in the 2002 election.
He raises issues about immigration and the fate of the french working classes.
