    Born in Paris, France
    Won gold medals in shot put and javelin at the Women's World Games in Monte Carlo (1921)
    Played for the football (soccer) teams Femina Sports (1917-19) and Olympique de Paris (1920-26)
    Won the Bol d'Or 24-hour car race (1927)
    Also competed in cycling, archery, tennis, diving, weightlifting, boxing and Greco-Roman wrestling

Why she might be annoying:

    She smoked three packs of cigarettes a day.
    She spied for Germany, providing them with plans for the Maginot Line.
    During the occupation of France, she joined the Gestapo as an interrogator and torturer of suspected Resistance members.
    She was nicknamed 'the Hyena of the Gestapo.'
    After her death, no one claimed her body and she was buried in a communal grave.

Why she might not be annoying:

    During World War I, she served as an ambulance driver at the Battle of the Somme and a courier at the Battle of Verdun.
    He sporting motto was 'Anything a man can do, Violette can do.'
    She was selected for the otherwise all-male French national water polo team.
    She was banned from the French Women's Athletic Federation over her lesbianism, preventing her from competing at the 1928 Olympics.
    A French Resistance group ambushed and killed her while she was driving in the countryside.
