The Resume

    (March 25, 1957- )
    Born in Los Angeles, California
    Birth name is Jennifer McEdward
Portrayed the title role in the NBC made-for-television movie 'Heidi' (aired on November 17, 1968)
Famously interrupted the New York Jets vs. Oakland Raiders game (now known the Heidi Game, or 'The Heidi Bowl')
Acted in 'The Carey Treatment,' 'S.O.B,' 'A Fine Mess,' 'The Man Who Loved Women' and 'That's Life'
    Daughter of filmmaker Blake Edwards

Why she might be annoying:

Her first movie role was in Days of Wine and Roses - directed by her father (nepotism).
Her movie aired at precisely 7 PM, interrupting an NBC broadcast of a regular-season professional football game between the Jets and Raiders.
The Jets had just gone ahead 32-29 when the telecast was stopped, and with 1:05 left to play in the game - leading many to incorrectly assume that they had beaten the Raiders.
Incensed football fans lit up NBC's switchboard with angry calls to the point where it eventually blew out.
Fans who stayed on to watch the movie were eventually treated to a scrolling update of the final score across the screen - during a scene where a wheelchair-bound girl was attempting to walk for the first time.
The Love Boat approached her about guesting on the show as a character in love with Jets Quarterback Joe Namath, but the episode never came to be.

Why she might not be annoying:

    Her stepmother is Julie Andrews!
She co-wrote the 1988 television movie 'Justin Case' with her father.
She was, by her own admission, 'the most hated little girl in America' for a time.
At ten-years-old and a UK resident, she received thousands of angry letters from upset American football fans.
The 'Heidi Bowl' aftermath resulted in all nationally-televised professional football games being shown in their entirety.
The Heidi Game was voted the most memorable regular season game in professional football history (1997).
She bumped into Joe Namath on a plane going from Los Angeles to New York and they both described it as a pleasant experience.
