The Resume

Founded by basso Thurl Ravenscroft and second tenor Max Smith
Other members included Bill Cole, Bob Hamlin, Bill Lee, and Bob Stevens
AKA Big John and the Buzzards, the Crackerjacks, the Lee Brothers, and the Ravenscroft Quartet

Why they might be annoying:

Though they began in the late 1940s and continued through to the mid-1970s, history has no idea of where they originated.
Not so bad the Crackerjacks, but there wasn’t a (Big) John among them, and ‘Brothers’ ventures into ‘phony sibling act’ territory.
While they were never confirmed as having been part of ‘El Dorado (1966),’ they were definitely featured in ‘Halloween Is Grinch Night.’
Their rendition of ‘Yo Ho Ho (a Pirate’s Life for Me)’ went a long way in creating the pirate stereotype that has since persisted.

Why they might not be annoying:

Pretty hard to find a more straightforward name for a group of their kind.
If you’ve caught any classic Disney animation (prior to Walt’s death), you’ve definitely heard their work.
They were credited under all form of their ultimate moniker (e.g. Mellow Men).
Inspired by the unavailability of the Jordanaires – whom he wanted to appear in ‘It Happened at the World’s Fair’ – they appeared in a few films that starred Elvis Presley.
While there were several tenors, there was only one baritone (Lee) and one basso (Ravenscroft) throughout.
