Why he might be annoying:

He recorded a disco-polka album in the 1970s.
The New York Times described his shiny, rhinestone-studded stage outfits as resembling ‘a polka Elvis.’
In his 60s, he still lived with his parents in the house he grew up in. (‘In the same room.’)
NARAS eliminated the Grammy for Best Polka Album (2009) partly due to his complete dominance of the category.
One music critic had written, ‘If Jimmy Sturr is going to win every year, then the polka category is useless.’
He sells his own brand of vodka, with the advice that it be ‘Sturr’d, not shaken’ in your favorite cocktail.

Why he might not be annoying:

He began leading a band at age fifteen.
Defying polka expectations, he does not play accordion and is ‘100% Irish.’
He won 18 of the 24 Grammys given for Best Polka Album.
He regularly sells out over 150 shows a year, and has played at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Yankee Stadium, and the Palace of Culture in Warsaw.
