Why Battlestar Galactica (2004) might be annoying:

The show is a re-imagination of the 1978 series bearing the same name.
The gender of the pilot Starbuck was changed from a man in the original series to a woman in the new series.
Many fans of the original show were outraged with the remake, believing that Ronald D. Moore was not respecting the source material, and believed the show would fail.
There are repeated uses of the word 'frak,' which is not a recognized English word.
The technology and weapons used by the Colonial fleet looks outdated and old.
The opening credits contain major spoilers of what will happen in the episode.

Why Battlestar Galactica (2004) might not be annoying:

Ron Moore, who developed the show, was formally a writer on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which is considered the best of the Star Trek spinoffs.
It contains multilayered and engrossing storylines, with plot points being set in advance for future episodes.
Ron Moore runs a weblog on the Battlestar Galactica page at Sci-Fi.com and answers questions sent into him by the fans.
