The Resume

    (1955- )
    Norn in Cleveland, Georgia
Founder of 'Cabbage Patch Dolls,' 'Babyland General Hospital,' 'Cabbage Patch Designs,' 'CBK Collectibles,' 'Children's Videos' and 'FURSKIN Bears'
Vocals for band 'Karate High School'
Initiator of marketing campaign 'Same candy, different packaging'

Why he might be annoying:

Sane people know babies are NOT born in a cabbage patch.
People are willing to pay large sums of money (thousands) for his dolls and their line of clothing!
His dolls have caused riots to erupt (many captured on video).
His Cabbage Patch Dolls created somewhat of a cult following.
Toy stores had trouble keeping their shelves stocked.
There are underground ripoffs of the dolls.
The dolls receive a birthday card from the company.
Dirty dolls can be sent to Babyland General Hospital (popular tourist attraction and once a real hospital) in Cleveland, GA, for bathing and mending.
At the hospital, one has to make an appointment for their doll and could even be an Inpatient stay. Cosmetic surgery takes even longer (What?!).
He says his dolls were twenty years before their time and would better fit in today's society.
Garbage Pail Kids are cheap knock off dolls and trading cards that were intended to poke fun at his dolls.
He once challenged Mr. T. to an arm-wrestling match and won by poking Mr. T. in the eye with his pinky finger.
He's 'turned on' by parrot droppings, 'One Eyed Willie' and agoraphobia (want one of his dolls now?!).
The dolls' heads were hard enough to break your nose or give you bruises if thrown at your face.

Why he might not be annoying:

He created his first doll at 21 and had over 400 high school and junior college friends employed.
He sold over eighty million Cabbage Patch Dolls worldwide.
His brand is one of the most recognized in the world.
Each doll comes with a birth certificate and adoption certificate and are unique in that no two are the same, except the rare twin dolls.
No two have the same name.
If you don't like your doll's given name, you can mail in the certificate and change it so it's still documented.
He credits Coleco's non experience with the sale boosts.
He said: 'the most important thing in designing a doll is that it has to be fun, has to spark a child and even an adult's imagination and first concern is safety.'
After the 'A Team' years, he was Mr. T.'s personal assistant.
