He is friends with professional wrestler Bill Goldberg.
He has given many players brutal hits which have changed the look of their careers, including Eric Lindros and Slava Kozlov.
He gave Paul Kariya a check during the 2002-03 Stanley Cup Finals that knocked him out completely for a few seconds.
His ability and talent as a defenseman in hockey is often-overshadowed by Martin Brodeur's raw ability to dominate a game on his own, with or without help.
He tends to let his facial hair grow more and more as the regular seasons reaches an end and the playoffs begin.

He won the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2000.
