Head coach for the B. C. Lions (1993-95), Montreal Alouettes (1997-98) and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1999-2004)

Why he might be annoying:

He was considered extremely grumpy towards the media.
He failed to repeat the same degree of success he had with the Lions in both Montreal and Winnipeg.
He frequently employed the same players he coached with his other teams.
His teams frequently languished near the bottom of the CFL standings.
Many Canadian football pundits felt he came across as being too old school.

Why he might not be annoying:

He guided the B. C. Lions to the Grey Cup championship, which is considered a classic (1994).
Despite his gruff nature towards the media, he was well respected by his players.
He ranks among the top 10 coaches in CFL history for most victories.
Despite limited knowledge upon his arrival, he became one of the CFL's offensive masterminds.
