The Resume

    (July 9, 1962- )
    Born in Bronx, New York
    Real-life Wolf of Wall Street
    Motivational speaker, stock broker
Founder of the Stratton Oakmont brokerage firm / penny-stock boiler room (outbound-call center where sales representatives use dirty high-pressure tactics and sometimes sweatshop conditions; also the inspiration for ‘Boiler Room’)
Indicted for securities fraud and money laundering (1998; sentencing agreement reached 2003)

Why he might be annoying:

Having attended dentistry college for a time, he left after the Dean told him, ‘The golden age of dentistry is over. If you’re here simply because you’re looking to make a lot of money, you’re in the wrong place.’
The movie loosely inspired by his life story, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, makes Goodfellas and the bulk of the Eddie Murphy library – put together – seen downright kiddie-rated.
He was a serious party animal with a Quaaludes addiction.
He named his luxury yacht – originally built for Coco Chanel decades earlier – for his second wife, a British-born Italian model. But then, having ignored the captain’s advice, it had a bit of a Titanic problem…
    He is twice divorced.

Why he might not be annoying:

Just prior to entering university, he set up an Italian ice shop with his childhood friend.
With another close friend, he worked on a meat and seafood business that would ultimately fail.
During the 22 months he served in federal prison for a pump and dump (false advertising of a stock share so as to resell at a higher cost), he met… yeah, that Tommy Chong.
Farfetched as it appeared to Time Magazine, he wholeheartedly validated the debauchery depicted in his namesake film.
Hell, he even acted as a personal mentor to DiCaprio in preparation for the film.
