Why they might be annoying:

Hibbert spent 18 months in jail for marijuana possession (1966-67).
Despite being one of reggae's pioneers, they never achieved the American success of Bob Marley or even JImmy Cliff.
When they were the opening act for the Who, they were booed off the stage at the Pontiac Dome (1975).
The show Miami Ink uses their 'Funky Kingston' as a theme song.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their record ‘Do the Reggay’ gave a name to the new music developing in Jamaica (1968).
They appeared in the breakthrough reggae movie 'The Harder They Come' (1972).
Their songs have been covered by the Clash and Sublime.
Hibbert has been called both 'the Jamaican Otis Redding' for his soulful vocals and 'the Jamaican James Brown' for his high-energy live performances.
