Why he might be annoying:

It is a well-known fact that his mother invented Liquid Paper. She made a fortune and left the estate to Michael Nesmith.
Despite his other success, including with a band named 'The First National Band,' he will always be known as a Monkee.
He did not join his former Monkee bandmates when they reunited for their 1996 tour.
He and fellow Monkee Davy Jones share the same birthday (December 30th).

Why he might not be annoying:

He won a Grammy in 1982 for his solo music video 'Elephant Parts.'
He re-joined his Monkees bandmates to receive their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
