During the 1920s, appeared in eight Kiddie Trouper shorts and four Our Gang shorts
Appeared on Broadway in 'The Lady Refuses' (1933), 'So Proudly We Hail' (1936), 'Too Many Girls' (1939), 'The Seven Year Itch' (1952), 'The Odd Couple' (1967), 'Hello Dolly!' (1978) and 'Sugar Babies' (1979)

Why he might be annoying:

He shaved five years off his age, claiming 1920 as his year of birth.
His typical roles were described as 'nervous hayseeds' and 'affable bumblers.'
He said, 'I made 22 films and I liked about two of them. I appeared in a lot of bad films because I was under contract and I couldn't get out of them.'
In the 1970s, he lost $2 million trying to start a chain of summer stock theaters.

Why he might not be annoying:

He and Connie Nickerson were married for 63 years until her death.
He continued performing in theater into his mid-80s, saying 'I'm only tired until the curtain goes up.'
He was nominated for a Tony for his performance in the revival of 'Hello, Dolly!' (1978)
He said, 'I've made a good living and I've had a good time doing it.... I've got a happy family, a nice home, and I'm working in my business. What more could I ask?'
