The Resume

    (July 11, 1950- )
    Born in San Antonio, Texas
Portrayed D-Day (Daniel Simpson Day) in 'National Lampoon's Animal House' (1978) and Jack Dalton in MacGyver
Appeared in the films 'Handle with Care' (1977), 'Silkwood' (1983), 'Into the Night' (1985), 'My Cousin Vinny' (1992), 'Cliffhanger' (1993), 'The Insider' (1999), 'Shallow Hal' (2001), 'Ali' (2001), 'Legally Blonde 2' (2003), 'Collateral' (2004), 'Cinderella Man' (2005) and 'W.' (2008)

Why he might be annoying:

During the filming of 'Animal House,' he stole the piano from the lobby of the hotel where the cast was staying and moved it to his room to provide music for their parties.
Noting that many of his roles were originally intended for someone else, he said, 'My agent and I joke all the time about what role I may or may not get. We always say that we’re just gonna sit around until Gene Hackman sprains his ankle on the first day of shooting.'
He was cast in an episode of Babylon 5 by mistake: producer J. Michael Straczynski wanted to hire Everett McGill but couldn't remember the actor's first name.
He and Tyne Daly have turned into doppelgangers as they've aged.

Why he might not be annoying:

The scene in 'Animal House' where he played 'The William Tell Overture' by drumming his fingers against his throat was going to be a throwaway bit in the toga party until director John Landis said, 'That's too good for the toga party. We'll save that for your entrance.'
He repeated this talent in 'MacGyver,' playing 'Rock-a-Bye Baby' to lull a child to sleep.
He is a favorite of director Michael Mann, appearing in three of his films and the series Miami Vice.
In one of his TV appearances, his character responds to the question of where he went to college with, 'Didn't. Watched Animal House a few times.' (Actually, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas.)
