    Translated 'Old Hungarian Fairy Tales', 'The Enchanted Cat', 'Fairyland's Beauty', and 'Uletka and the White Lizard' into English with the help of her husband Montague Barstow (1895)
    Wrote the novels 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' (1905), 'I Will Repay' (1906), 'The Nest of the Sparrowhawk' (1909), 'Eldorado' (1913), 'The Laughing Cavalier' (1913), 'Lord Tony's Wife' (1917), 'The First Sir Percy' (1920), 'The Triumph of the Scarlet Pimpernel' (1922), 'Pimpernel and Rosemary' (1924), 'Sir Percy Hits Back' (1927), 'A Child of the Revolution' (1932), 'The Way of the Scarlet Pimpernel' (1933), 'Sir Percy Leads the Band' (1936), and 'Mam'zelle Guillotine' (1940)
    Wrote the short story collections 'The Case of Miss Elliot' (1905), 'The Old Man in the Corner' (1909), Lady Molly of Scotland Yard' (1910), 'The Man in Grey' (1918), 'The League of the Scarlet Pimpernel' (1919), and 'Adventures of the Scarlet Pimpernel' (1929)
    Died in Henley-on-Thames, South Oxfordshire, England, United Kingdom

    She refused to support Benito Mussolini even when some of her friends in Monte Carlo admired him.
    She opposed communism.
    In addition to writing, she did some art, and some her paintings were exhibited at the Royal Academy in London.
