He claims that Diana called him 'the only man she ever trusted.'
He claims he helped cover up Charles' trysts with Camilla Parker-Bowles.
He told 'The Sun' that he had not told 'the whole truth' and threw in 'a few red herrings' when he testified at the inquiry into Diana's death.
Princes William and Harry called his memoirs 'a cold and overt betrayal.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He decided at age eight that he wanted to work at Buckingham Palace after a trip to London during which he witnessed the Changing of the Guard.
When he married Maria Cosgrove, a maid to Prince Philip, the Queen permitted both of them to continue working at Buckingham Palace, despite tradition that if two servant wed, one had to leave the Royal Household.
He received the Long and Faithful Service Medal for twenty years of service to the Royal Family (1996).
Queen Elizabeth provided evidence in his favor when he was charged with theft for keeping some of Diana's possessions, resulting in the charges being dismissed (2002).
