The Resume

    (November 28, 1887-June 29, 1934)
First leader of the Sturm Abteilung
Participated in the failed Beer Hall putsch (1923)
    Expanded the S.A. from 70,000 to 170,000 members (1931-1932)
Eventually became 4,500,000 men strong (1934)
Council member on the National Defense Counsil
One of the founding members of the Nazi Party

Why he might be annoying:

He funded the German Workers Party with money laundered from the German army's political fund.
After being arrested for the failed Beer Hall putsch, he was released and his punishment being dismissed from the German army.
He played a vital role in destroying the opposition during elections in 1932 and 1933.
He was one of the main reasons Adolf Hitler came to power.
His S.A. brownshirts did some of the same work as the S.S. blackshirts, lead by Himmler.
He tried to absorb the much smaller German Army into the S.A.
He was a hypocrite, being a homosexual even as they were targeted by his own party.
He had rivalries with everyone in the Nazi Party, and had the power to stop Adolf Hitler from leading Germany to ruin, but he didn't.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was wounded three times during World War I.
He was falsely accused by Heydrich and Himmler of being payed 12 million marks by France to overthrow Hitler.
Although Hitler liked him and recognized how much he contributed to the establishment of the Nazi Party, Hitler realized he had the power to overthrow him, and was constantly fed misinformation by jealous members of the Nazi party of his supposed 'treasonous deeds.'
Accompanied by the S.S., Hitler personally arrested him at a S.A. meeting at Hanselbauer Hotel in Wiesse, and the other higher-up members of the S.A. were shot as soon as they were arrested.
Hitler's original plan was to pardon him for his past services to the Nazi party, but after pressure from Himmler and Goering, and despising his homosexuality, Hitler decided that he should be killed.
Although Hitler insisted that he should commit suicide, he refused, and he was shot to death by S.S. guards in his cell (June 29th, 1934).
Following his death, other members of the S.A., military officials, government officials, Jews and even German citizens suspected of working against the Nazi Party were murdered by S.S. members, in a day which would be known as the 'Night of the Long Knives.'
His betrayal by Hitler proved the complete dishonor and paranoia of Nazi Germany.
