Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with a football placekicker, despite spelling it differently.
He was part of hockey infamy on two occasions.
His first infamous moment was when he allowed a Mario Lemieux goal, after the latter split through two defensemen to score it (1991).
His more notorious moment in hockey lore was after he allowed a Steve Yzerman goal from the blueline, which eliminated the Blues from the playoffs in double overtime (1996).
He was a flimsy and inconsistent starting goaltender.
He frequently bounced back and forth between the NHL and the minor leagues.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a member of two national championship hockey teams while at the University of North Dakota.
He spent the bulk of his career playing in his home state of Minnesota.
He backstopped the North Stars to the franchise's last Stanley Cup Final appearance, prior to the team's relocation to Dallas.
Despite playing the majority of the 1995-96 season in the minors, he was called upon as an emergency replacement after Grant Fuhr went down with a season ending knee injury, and backstopped the Blues to the second round of the playoffs.
