Football Player

The Resume

    (May 8, 1969- )
    Born in Tallahassee, Florida
    Born John Broward Culpepper
1992 National Football League draft, Round 10, #264 pick
Defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings (1992–1993), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1994–1999) and Chicago Bears (2000)
NFL Unsung Hero Award winner (1998, 1999)
University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame, 2001 Gator Great
Personal injury lawyer (bar admission, 2002)

Why he might be annoying:

He was the lowest-round NFL draft pick to – for lack of a better term – kick off a season.
He was tapped to appear on Survivor One World. Then some Google images of his wife Monica made the rounds…
His three children are named Rex (OK), Judge (uh?), and Honor (sheesh).
On the sudden increase in 300-pound NFL players over his run: ‘It’s not how much money you make… it’s who lives the longest.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He is a third-generation University of Florida (Gators) alumnus; his uncle was also a fullback there.
At least all of his uniform numbers were in one range (73, 76, 77).
He was on the Academic Honor Roll of the Southeastern Conference all four years of his college term.
His Culpepper’s Champions project awarded Bucs tickets to local students for improved literacy marks.
After his nine-year NFL career, he dropped nearly 100 pounds (he had weighed 280).
As a trial lawyer at Culpepper & Kurland, he regularly speaks out about the increasing size of NFL players — which he considers grounds for serious health issues (‘it’s unnatural and unsafe; the players are getting heavier and heavier’).
